The Institute for Women's Mental Health and Social Change
Examin. Inform. Advocate
About Our Institute
The Institute for Women's Mental Health and Social Change was founded on a transformative belief: supporting women's mental health requires more than helping women cope with the conditions around them. It also requires examining those conditions. Grounded in research and clinical expertise, we explore how social, cultural, economic, institutional, and systemic forces shape women's mental health and well-being. Our mission is to move beyond conversations focused solely on individual resilience and bring greater attention to the environments in which women live, work, care, and participate in society.
Through research, education, collaboration, and advocacy, we work to translate knowledge into awareness and awareness into meaningful change. We believe that true progress in women's mental health comes from understanding and addressing the structural barriers and systemic inequities that impact women's lives. By combining rigorous research with actionable advocacy, we aim to create lasting, systemic improvements that benefit women and society as a whole.
